Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: Symptoms and Treatments
OCD is a type of anxiety disorder. Apart from OCD, anxiety disorders include phobic disorders, phobias, panic disorder, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder and generalized anxiety disorers. OCD is characterized by obsessions, or recurrent intrusive ideas, images, and urges, and compulsions, or impulses to lessen the unease cause by such obsessions by performing repetitive behaviors or mental acts. New River Pharmaceuticals Reaches the Top of a Steep Climb with $2.6 Billion Acquisition by Shire
New River Pharmaceuticals (NRPH) is a specialty pharma company based in Radford, VA. It went public in the summer of 2004 selling $4.2 million shares at $8.00 a share. WR Hambrecht was the lead underwriter. Since then its stock has gone up nearly 1,500%.  This month the company received FDA approval for their new treatment for ADHD, Vyvanse (previously NRP104).  Three days before the approval, the marketing partner for the drug, Shire Pharmaceuticals Group plc (SHPGY) announced plans to acquire the company for $64 per New River share, or approximately $2.6 billion cash...
